FREE COVER FOR INPUTS.
With the escalating cost of fertiliser you need to be constantly aware of how much cover you have. With most insurers, it is a case of the more cover you need the more premium you pay. With Farmers & Mercantile, we provide cover automatically for inputs under the Business Interruption section WITHOUT LIMIT and WITHOUT CHARGE. With many farmers typically trebling their sum insured and therefore the premium for this section, many find that a strategic move to Farmers & Mercantile can have a dramatic effect on the premium and also increase the cover.
LOOK TO YOUR ASSETS
In the current economic climate, many farmers are relying on the value of their homes and farm buildings for pension provision and borrowing security. But if the worst happened and the asset was destroyed by fire, the insurance value comes under close scrutiny. Many farmers have not benefited from a comprehensive review of their insurance values and could find themselves significantly short in the event of a claim. This can have drastic financial consequences. So get your sums insured reviewed by experts. If you become a client of Farmers & Mercantile, we will even pay a contribution for a Chartered Surveyor to value your farmhouse.
FREE REPLACEMENT COMBINE
What would you do if your combine caught fire on the first day of harvest? It is critical that the cover you have in force for the cost of a hired replacement is adequate. All too many insurers have a modest inner limit for this cover, some as low as £5,000. Business Interruption cover with Farmers & Mercantile provides this cover WITHOUT LIMIT.
WHEN DISASTER STRIKES WE REACT FAST
On Tuesday during July 2008, an existing client of ours in the Midlands rang to report a barn fire which was out of control. The fire brigade were obviously in attendance, as was our Account Executive whilst it was still burning. The loss adjusters “Agrical” (we only use specialist farming loss adjusters) were appointed immediately and attended within 24 hours. Building estimates were sought, approved and work began within 7 days of the fire. The new barn was up within 3 weeks, critically in time for harvest. The construction company were paid immediately and the straw stock value was settled to the client. The total claim exceeded £80,000.
