Mick Hodgson – Farm Insurance Advisor
Born in Keighley West Yorks and educated Aireville Secondary Modern and Ermysteds Grammar School Skipton.
After school worked as an Environmental Health Inspector, Civil Servant in the DHSS and as a sales manager (rep) for Fordham Plastics, selling baths etc to local authorities and house builders, started work for NFU as an Assistant GS in Doncaster in 1980 and moved to Weardale in 1982 as GS for South West Durham.
Married Deborah in 1979, have two sons, Andy and Matt. Andy runs his own garage business in Stanhope (in Weardale) doing car service, repair and MOT employing two mechanics and his wife in reception, Matt started working for me at the NFU now works for Marsh as a new business executive, is also President of Newcastle Insurance Institute this year and recently got his ACII qualification.
Outside work I enjoy DIY, landscaping our garden, walking, mountain biking, I have done a lot of sailing dinghy racing and along with my sons ran a Mini Seven race car team, youngest son drove: eldest son, me and numerous others put it back together again. Also enjoy watching Rugby (Union) and any form of motorsport.
In August 2011 Deb and I became grandparents to Andy and Claire's baby daughter Rebecca
